One of the core functions of the LSCB is to monitor the effectiveness of interagency working to safeguard and protect children. In order to do this we are developing models of audit and review for use by multi agency audit teams who are involved in research and audit programmes of the Board.
The LSCB Multi Agency Audit Team was set up in September 2008 and includes representatives from the PCT, Police, Children’s Social Care, Education and Integrated Services and well as the LSCB Team. The LSCB meets to conduct audit around specific issues identified usually through the LSCB Executive Group. It has capacity to review and compare child protection practice from around the county.
Each of the LSCB Locality Forums are in the process of establishing small multi agency audit groups who can analyse child protection and safeguarding data for their areas. These groups can also initiate practice reviews and audit to reflect local as well as county issues.
