Education Conference

Audience: School governors, Designate Safeguarding Leads, Education Advice and Support Officers across Education Settings – Limited to 2 places per Education Setting.

The recently published CONTEST Strategy 2018 states that protecting pupils and students from radicalisation is part of the wider safeguarding duties of teachers, tutors and academics. The Prevent duty requires education providers to have clear policies in place to safeguard students and build their resilience to radicalisation in schools, further and higher education institutions.

‘Working with Individuals Vulnerable to Extremism in Education’ Conference on Monday 22nd October 2018 at the Pavilions, Harrogate will demonstrate how the vital role that the education sector plays in safeguarding vulnerable people against radicalisation, how effectively we can work together to protect our pupils and students across North Yorkshire and enable you to understand what support and interventions are available to settings across North Yorkshire.
