Aim:
To enhance multi-agency work within child protection strategy meetings.
This is the first course of three interlinking sessions looking at effective practice within the child protection process. It replaces the two day Understanding Child Protection Conference Process and is for social workers, health visitors, police officers from the Protecting Vulnerable Persons Units, designated teachers and designated child protection leads in Early Years, working with vulnerable children and families, youth workers working with vulnerable young people, adult mental health workers etc.
Objectives
By the end of the course, participants should:
- Understand their role and contribution to strategy meetings
- Have a clear understanding of the decision making processes within a strategy meeting
- Have a sound understanding of principles and processes for effective multi-agency working
