Private Fostering Week 2019

This week we are wanting to raise professionals awareness on Private Fostering, specifically the statutory requirement services have to notify North Yorkshire County Council should they become aware a child under the of 16, or 18 if disabled is being cared for by a professional who is not a parent or close relative for 28 days or more.

As part of this week we are pleased to publish an updated One Minute Guide on Private Fostering which explains what Private Fostering is, what it isn't, what professionals need to do should they become aware, and the next steps once a notification has been made.
