Serious Case Reviews are a requirement under the Department of Health Guidance "Working Together to Safeguard Children (1999)".
The North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Board will always consider whether a Review should be conducted where a child sustains a potentially life-threatening injury, a serious or permanent impairment of health and development or has been subjected to particularly serious sexual abuse. Such cases can raise concerns regarding the work of interagencies working in order to protect children and in the event of such circumstances a Review shall be considered.
Executive summaries of any future Serious Case Reviews will be published here.
