Aim:

To promote more effective ways of working with emotionally abused children and their families.

Objectives:

By the end of the course participants will be able:

  • To identify some definitions of emotional abuse
  • To discuss emotional development and the effects of emotional abuse
  • To discuss methods of recognition/identification of emotional abuse
  • To examine causal factors in the emotional abuse of children
  • To identify effective methods of intervention
