Training Levels
Level 1
For those in regular contact with children and young people and with adults who are parents or carers.
- Basic Awareness in Child Protection is suitable for people who relate to the above.
Level 2
For those who work regularly with children and young people, and with adults who are carers, and who may be asked to contribute to assessments of children in need.
- Working Together to Safeguard Children: Understanding Abuse Day 1
- Working Together to Safeguard Children: Understanding the Child Protection Process Day 2
These two courses are suitable for workers who relate to the above, those workers who come into this category do not need to attend level 1.
The above three courses are known as the Core Interagency Courses, they are part of a rolling programme and will be available every year.
Level 3
For those with a particular responsibility for safeguarding children, such as designated or named health and education professionals, police, social workers, and other professionals undertaking s47 enquiries or working with complex cases.
There are a number of courses designed to meet the needs of this group.
