Aim:

To raise awareness of how parent/carer mental issues impact on the child and its implications for all family members.

Objectives:

By the end of the course participants will be able:

  • To discuss a range of mental health issues
  • To identify the possible impact on child development where carer mental health is an issue
  • To understand the needs of children where carer mental health is an issue
  • To enhance skills in working with families to improve standards of care
  • To identify practice which remains child-focused
