Level 2: Protecting Disabled Children - A Refresher

Aim:

To ensure disabled children are safeguarded from harm by raising awareness of their vulnerability to abuse.

 This course is for practitioners who have already undertaken the Protecting Disabled Children course and who now need to update/refresh their knowledge.

Objectives:

  • Understand the reality of the vulnerability of disabled children to abuse
  • Recognise and respond to concerns about disabled children
  • Ensure that the needs of disabled children are addressed within the Child Protection process
  • Understand legislative changes and how they impact upon services to disabled children
