Level 2: Working Together to Address Issues of Sexual Abuse

Aim:

To provide knowledge and skills in working with children and families affected by sexual abuse.

Objectives:

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

  • Recognise and understand sexual abuse and how it can impact on a child’s development
  • Have knowledge and confidence in working with abusing and non-abusing parents and carers
  • Have knowledge of local services for working with adult sex offenders, children and families affected by sexual abuse, and young people who sexually harm others
  • Have a greater understanding of how different agencies work together with families affected by sexual abuse, different roles and responsibilities, and the relevance of the child protection procedures
