Aim:
To give participants an understanding of the nature and impact of roles and responsibilities within the child protection system for ensuring effective multi-agency work. The course will look at strategy meetings, child protection conferences, and the role of the core groups to ensure the best outcomes for children at risk of harm.
This course replaces the two day Understanding Child Protection Conference Process and is for designated teachers, designated child protection leads in Early Years, youth workers who may be invited to conference, adult mental health workers etc.
Objectives
By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
- Understand their role and contribution to strategy meetings, child protection conferences and core groups
- Have a clear understanding of the assessment and decision making processes within conference
- Have a sound understanding of principles and processes for effective multi-agency working
