IDAS Update – September

IDAS have shared their September update and details of a session to be held by the North Yorkshire Team with expert panel discussion to give insights into each of their different services and the opportunity for you to ask questions. Useful links and the full details can be found below:

“” Thank you for the efforts made to reduce call volumes on our helpline, making it as easy as possible for victims and survivors to contact us.

In August we received over 1700 helpline calls, an increase of around 500 calls on last year. Our teams are working hard to get through the high number of calls and referrals.

The week after we sent out our request for professionals to use alternative methods to contact us, we saw a significant reduction in helpline traffic.

Just a quick reminder of the many ways that you can contact us:

Live Chat for Professionals is available on our website, Monday – Friday 10am – 12 noon. Visit www.idas.org.uk during these times and a chat box will appear.

To make referrals we have a simple, secure online form which you can bookmark to your desktop for quick access.

If you have a query about a client you are working with and the case is open to one of our practitioners, you can also contact them directly via their mobile phone or email.

For general enquiries you can email us on info@idas.org.uk

Over the lockdown period, we have increased capacity on our helplines and extended our Live Chat times. We have also mobilised volunteers to put up hundreds of posters to let people know that support is available.

Our support is crucial and for many, life changing:

“Thank you for all your help, you saved mine & my children lives, we wouldn’t be living the life we are without your support’

“I have finally learnt how to accept what has happened in the past and to move on with my life. It is hard work every day, but I will never go back”

“You totally supported me throughout the whole process, you walked me all the way through everything and made sense of the horrible situation I was in and I don’t know how I would have managed alone, you really literally saved my life.”

We are grateful for the continued support of our partners.

Our team of experts deliver a range of training and bitesize workshops. These are all available through our website.
